Police Confirm Death Of 71-Year-Old Malston Iris
The police have confirmed the death of 71-year-old Malston Iris, which marks the island’s 9th road traffic fatality of the year.
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] can now confirm the death of 71-year-old Malston Iris, Bermuda’s ninth road fatality of 2022, and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.
“Mr. Iris, a pedestrian, was seriously injured when a minibus struck him on King Street, near the junction with Front Street in the City of Hamilton, around 6:20pm Friday, 2nd December 2022.
“Despite receiving treatment from EMTs at the scene and being rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, Mr. Iris was pronounced dead two days later.
“A BPS Family Liaison Officer is providing support to his loved ones and the Roads Policing Unit [RPU] is investigating the circumstances of this latest road fatality.
