Whitney Institute Win U13 Knockout Cup Final
The Whitney Institute Middle School came from behind to defeat Saltus Grammar School 2-1 in the Bermuda School Sports Federation Middle School Under 13 Knockout Cup Football Final.
Carter Thomas fired Saltus into the lead in the 18th minute. The Whitney goalkeeper got his hands onto Thomas’ effort but was unable to keep the ball from reaching the back of the net.
Whitney secured the cup win in a three-minute spell early in the second half with Amai Harvey scoring twice. A Solomon Salaam pass in the 34th minute put Harvey clear on goal and he made no mistake slipping the ball past the Saltus goalkeeper.
Amir Weller was the provider in the 37th minute for Harvey to complete yet again, and Weller was named MVP for the Champions while Thomas was named MVP for the runners-up.
