BELCO: Section Of Serpentine Road Closed

BELCO today advised that a section of Serpentine Road will be closed this afternoon in order to carryout necessary repairs to an underground distribution cable.

A spokesperson said, “At approximately 4.15 pm on Tuesday, January 31st a circuit tripped which caused an outage impacting approximately nine [9] businesses in the vicinity of Park Lane, Par-la-Ville Road and Wesley Street. BELCO crews identified the fault and re-routed power to restore electricity to customers but further works were deemed necessary to repair the fault.

“As a result, BELCO sought and was given permission by the Corporation of Hamilton to excavate a section of Serpentine Road in front of PW’s showroom to carry out repairs.

“The repairs will require a section of road to be excavated and will commence this afternoon. As a result, it will be necessary to close the eastbound lane of Serpentine Road between the Serpentine Road, Par-la-Ville Road and Woodlands Road roundabout and the roundabout at the junction of Dundonald Street and Park Road so no traffic will be able to flow eastbound in front of PW’s showroom. BELCO apologises for the inconvenience.”
