ICC Online Training & Education Programme

The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] announced that the International Cricket Council [ICC] launched the ICC’s online training and education programme in the third quarter of 2023.

A spokesperson said, “The BCB is currently in the process of aligning our prerequisite coaching requirements prior to the start of the 2024 cricket season. The first steps to ensure we are advancing our prerequisite coaching regulations which will take place on April 1st, 2023, and April 5th, 2023, at the Bermuda College Gymnasium. This program will include ICC level practical assessments.

“The ICC training and education courses aim to grow the game of cricket around the world, by driving the development of aspiring cricket coaches, umpires, scorers and more. These courses will be delivered online and are delivered by EdApp, a fully mobile platform that uses micro-learning methods to offer an engaging environment to enhance your learning journey.

“EdApp is free to all cricket enthusiasts — each course affords a user [coach, umpire, scorers etc.] the opportunity to complete their program at their own speed as long as they have access to the internet, a computer, iPad or a mobile device [phone]. Furthermore, supporting your training and development in short, sharp bursts so you can learn whenever and wherever you are in the world.

“The ICC Foundation Certificate is the first program made available by the ICC, providing an entry point into formal coaching qualifications. The course is structured into six modules, delivered entirely online and self-paced. To advance to the next level of certification, all participants must undertake each educational workshop program, starting with the ICC Foundation Certificate.

“We at the BCB are eager to encourage our coaches, match officials, and scorers to join the millions of people who have already accessed the EdApp platform. The first two courses can be completed 100% online. The Level 1 and Level 2 courses are a hybrid of online workshops, followed by a practical assessment, that will be conducted by Mr. Arnold Manders and Mr. Allan Douglas Sr, who are qualified ICC tutor trainers.
