Oliver Betschart finished in 4th place in the STPGA Prestige Tour Shootout in the Hills in Texas.

A spokesperson said, “On the 4th -5th March 2023, Oliver Betschart competed in the 36 hole STPGA Prestige Tour Shootout in the Hills, at Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Blanco Texas. After shooting a first round 74, 2 over par, which put him in a tie for the lead entering the second day, he struggled out of the gates with a bogey and triple bogey on the first two holes finishing the front nine in 6 over.

“Oliver was able to come back with 2 birdies and two bogeys to finish even on the back but dropped him in to a tie for fourth shooting a 74,78, 8 over for the tournament 3 off of the winner. Gavin Hymer took the win after a play-off with Aadi Parmar, shooting a 77, 72, 5 over.

Betschart said, “I was pleased with my play on the first day having an eagle and 3 birdies, but I also had 2 doubles and 3 bogeys, but I never give up and I always try and find a way to get back into the match. The second day was a tough start, but I knew that I could get back into it. I got some of the way there, on the back nine but just not enough.”

He will compete at Lakecliff Country Club next week before returning to Bermuda later this month.
