Mosaic’s co-CEO Mitch Blaser has been inducted into the George Washington School of Business [GWSB] Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame.

A spokesperson said, “The honour, awarded at an inaugural induction ceremony last night on the GW campus in Washington DC, recognizes GWSB alumni and faculty who have made significant contributions to entrepreneurial excellence across the United States and around the world.

“Blaser was among the first group of 11 awardees, which included industry figures such as real-estate developer Charles Bendit; founder of the Greater Washington Black Chamber of Commerce, Antwanye Ford; data analytics pioneer George Moore; community and business leader and speaker LaJuanna Y. Russell; winemaker Susie Selby; and author George Solomon.”

Anuj Mehrotra, Dean of the GW School of Business, said, “This inaugural and foundational class of Hall of Fame members inspires our GWSB community, mentors our entrepreneurial students and alumni, and sets an example by leading, teaching, and researching through innovation.

“Mitch is the embodiment of this powerful engagement, and we’re privileged to have benefited from his many contributions to GW’s success and are proud to award him this honor in tribute.”

The spokesperson said, “Blaser, who co-founded Mosaic as a global specialty insurer in 2021, has more than 40 years of accomplishments in international insurance markets. He was a founding executive of Ironshore, a commercial insurer that launched in Bermuda in 2006 with $1 billion in private-equity capital. He helped drive its growth to become a global property & casualty company with more than 800 employees in 15 nations before it was acquired by Liberty Mutual Group.

“Special guests at the ceremony included Bermuda Premier David Burt, also a GW University graduate, and former Bermuda premier Sir John Swan.”

Mr. Blaser said, “It is such a wonderful honor to be recognized by my GW family and to be considered among a group of colleagues with such notable achievements.

“I share this award with the amazing network of friends, family, and co-workers I’ve had the privilege to know and be inspired by, and I’m grateful that both Premier Burt and Sir John could attend. Any success I’ve enjoyed is thanks to the power of relationships—and our responsibility as entrepreneurs is to pass that on to the next generation.”

The spokesperson said, “Blaser has decades-long connections with GW University since graduating with his Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He has chaired the School of Business advisory board for the past 30 years, and both his daughters are alumni. He also served as the inaugural chair of GW’s Family Leadership Circle.”
