Sean Trott has set his sights on victory in the Lindo’s to Lindo’s 10K Run on Sunday [March 5].
Trott is among the leading contenders in the annual race, starting at Lindo’s Family Foods in Warwick and finishing at Lindo’s Market in Devonshire.
The race aims to raise awareness of diabetes and generate funds for the Bermuda Diabetes Association [BDA].

Trott said he wants to build on his second-place finish in the Ed Sherlock 8K, part of the Legends Race Series, finishing in 28min 5sec in last month’s race.
“I go into every race looking to win it,” Trott told Bernews, “That’s always the goal. I’m using this race as a fitness gauge.”
The 33-year-old came tenth in the BF&M 10K in January – his first race of the year – crossing the finish line in 36:17, and admits he had hoped for a stronger showing.
“The 10K was a bit below my expectations,” he said. “I was coming off a bout of sickness and injury in December. I was happier with my performance in the Ed Sherlock 8K. I feel as though things are on an upward trajectory.”
Trott still harbours ambitions of winning the Bermuda Half Marathon Derby – the “Holy Grail” for Bermudian runners, having achieved three second-place finishes and a third.
“I’m in the middle of training for May 24,” said Trott, who trains six days a week. “That’s the big focus and everything points towards that.
“I’m proud of my overall record in May 24. It’s the biggest race on the calendar, and I try to fit everything else around it.
“You need to be on your ‘A’ game to stand a chance of winning because it’s such a competitive race. I’m taking running seriously and hoping to experience some good results.”
