BUEI Films To Screen ‘The Inspection’ On April 8
The 2022 drama The Inspection will screen in BUEI’s Tradewinds Auditorium on Saturday, April 8 at 7.00pm.
A spokesperson said, “Screening this Saturday, April 8th at 7pm in BUEI’s Tradewinds Auditorium is the 2022 drama The Inspection.
“Starring Emmy and Tony-nominated actor Jeremy Pope [as seen on FX’s Pose, Netflix’s Hollywood, and the film One Night in Miami], The Inspection tells the true story of Ellis French, a troubled gay black man who enlists in the Marine Corps.
“Set in the 1990s during the ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ era, the film explores French’s life after facing rejection from his mother, played by Gabrielle Union [Being Mary Jane, Two Can Play That Game, Bad Boys II].

The spokesperson said, “Next month, Films at BUEI will screen the 2021 documentary Summer of Soul on Saturday, April 22nd at 7pm.
“Directed by Ahmir ‘Questlove’ Thompson, Summer of Soul shines a light on the importance of history to our spiritual well-being and stands as a testament to the healing power of music during times of unrest, both past and present. The feature includes concert performances from the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival by artists such as Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, Sly & the Family Stone, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Mahalia Jackson, B.B. King, The 5th Dimension, and more.
“The Harlem Cultural Festival took place over the course of six weeks in the summer of 1969, just one hundred miles south of Woodstock; footage from the festival was largely forgotten – until now.
“The Films at BUEI series takes place every second and fourth Saturday of each month at 7pm in our Tradewinds Auditorium. Films selected for screening are intended for mature audiences and include a ticket option package featuring a beverage such as wine, beer, or a non-alcoholic drink, and snacks to enjoy during each show.
