Mrs. Astwood said, “I am grateful for having been appointed to the role of Deputy Commissioner of the Bermuda Police Service.
“Having begun my career with the BPS as a Police Cadet at the age of 17, I am excited and look forward to leading the men and women of our organisation as we continue to serve our community, making Bermuda safer.”
I am so proud of you for your accomplishments. What a beautiful story and a joy to know that you have gone the distance. I know how it feels when you first start out as a young cadet with big dreams of a bright future. To go through all of the ups and downs, studying and learning about something that you truly love and can enjoy giving your all into. Pushing yourself to do more, achieve more and encouraging others along the way. It becomes more than just an occupation, more than the call of duty, you basically adopt the lifestyle and never look back at being an average person or civilian again. Sometimes you may have wondered is it all worth it and when the fruits of your labor become manifest you can smile and say yes absolutely worth it. I wish you all the best and come what may I know you will continue in excellence in all that you do. God bless you and keep you and direct your path too. Remember this God is for you, God is in it with you, working through you, fighting for you!
