Police Update On 14-Year-Old [Located]
[Updated] While 14-year-old Za’naj Bascome has not yet been located he “has been in contact with relatives who have reported that he is safe,” the police said today, adding that the ”BPS urges anyone who has been in contact with Za’ naj to have him return home.”
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service wishes to thank the public for their assistance since a missing person’s advisory was issued for 14-year-old Za’naj Bascome.
“While Mr. Bascome has not yet been located, the Bermuda Police Service [BPS] can confirm that Za’naj has been in contact with relatives who have reported that he is safe.
“However, we wish to reiterate that Za’naj is a minor and should be in the care of his parents.
“The public is reminded that it is an offence to unlawfully withhold a child.
“The BPS urges anyone who has been in contact with Za’ naj to have him return home.”
Update April 11, 9.00am: A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service is pleased to report that thanks to your help and that of members of the public, Za’naj Bascome who was reported missing on Thursday, April 6th, 2023, has been located safe and well.”
