BSSF Senior School Super 8′s Cricket
The Berkeley Institute and CedarBridge Academy shared honours at the National Sports Centre at the Bermuda School Sports Federation Senior School Super 8s Cricket tournament sponsored by Markel Bermuda.
The Berkeley Institute finished the day undefeated in the boy’s tournament after winning the round robin with a 4-0 record before defeating Warwick Academy in the final. Warwick was sent to bat and scored 43 in the allotted seven overs while losing five wickets. Luke Fulton led Warwick with 15 runs while Alex Oppenheim finished with 12. Berkeley lost their openers cheaply but Tavez Smith led the recovery with 18 runs.
CedarBridge Academy also finished undefeated in the girl’s tournament and also defeated Warwick Academy in the final. Warwick went to bat first and scored 55 runs in their innings losing two wickets. Adriana Argent led Warwick with 17 runs. Chloe Card opened the Warwick bowling and took a wicket with her first ball before making three catches in the innings but it wasn’t enough to prevent CedarBridge Academy from reaching their target. Amara Richards was in fine form scoring 28 runs to lead CedarBrige Academy. Richards innings included three sixes and two fours.
