Horsfield Concludes Pan Am Championships

Robin Horsfield suffered misfortune in the elite men’s cross-country race at the Pan American Mountain Bike Championships in Mines Gerais, Brazil, yesterday [April 30].

Horsfied, who finished 62nd in the elite men’s short-course track event last week, experienced a mechanical issue with his chain early on in the race leading to him missing part of the course and being disqualified.

The Bermuda Bicycle Association wrote on Facebook: “We’re grateful to the event organisers and the thousands of fans who came out to support the athletes, and we know that Robin gave it his all in the face of adversity.

“Mechanical issues can happen to anyone, but we do not doubt that Robin will continue to train hard and represent Bermuda with pride in future events.”
