Tennis: Bermuda Defeat Dominican Republic
Bermuda picked up a 2 – 1 win against the Dominican Republic in the Davis Cup tournament at the Club Internacional de Tenis, Asuncion, in Paraguay.
Playing in the Group III, Americas Relegation Play-off Final, Trey Mallory gave Bermuda the lead when he defeated Alberto Puello in straight sets 6-1, 7-5. Daniel Philips took on Peter Bertran in the second match, with Betran winning 6-2, 6-1.
The Doubles team of James Finnigan and Gavin Manders needed a third set to defeat Bertran and Enmanuel Munoz 7-6, 4-6, 6-3.
