Bermuda National Time Trial Championships
The Bermuda National Time Trial Championships were held yesterday [June 15], seeing national champions crowned in a number of categories.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Bicycle Association [BBA] is thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Bermuda National Time Trial Championships, held at Clearwater on Thursday, June 15, 2023. This exciting event witnessed the crowning of national champions in various categories.
“Kaden Hopkins demonstrated his exceptional skills and claimed the National Time Trial title in the Open Male category, while Caitlin Conyers emerged victorious in the Open Female category. Jackson Langley showcased his talent and secured the National Time Trial title in the Junior Male category, with Annabelle Miller earning the corresponding title in the Junior Female category. The Masters Male and Masters Female categories saw Steven Smith and Nicole Mitchell respectively, taking home the prestigious National Time Trial titles.
“The attention now turns to the highly anticipated Road Race, which is scheduled for Sunday, June 18, 2023. Starting and finishing at Whitney School, the course will take riders on a challenging 10-mile eastern loop. The upcoming National Road Race Championships promises to be a thrilling battle, as cyclists showcase their endurance, tactical prowess, and determination.
“Here are the race details for each category:
- Open Male: 6 laps, covering a total of 60 miles
- Masters Male: 4 laps, covering a total of 40 miles
- Open Female: 4 laps, covering a total of 40 miles
- Junior Male: 4 laps, covering a total of 40 miles
- Junior Female: 3 laps, covering a total of 30 miles
“Spectators are encouraged to come out and witness the intense competition as these skilled cyclists navigate the challenging course, pushing their limits to claim victory.
“The Bermuda Bicycle Association extends its congratulations to all the participants in the National Time Trial Championships and commends their exceptional performances. The association wishes all the cyclists the best of luck as they prepare for the upcoming Road Race.
