Davies Recognized At Convocation In Canada

Bermudian Samantha Davies has graduated from Canada’s Albert College as an Ontario Scholar.

A spokesperson said, “42 students representing 11 countries graduated from Albert College in Canada on Saturday, including a student from Devonshire, Bermuda. Albert College is Canada’s oldest co-educational boarding and day high school located in Belleville, Ontario along the shores of Lake Ontario between Toronto and Ottawa.

“Albert College celebrated 166 years of graduates on Saturday and recognized the class of 2023, including Bermuda’s own Samantha Davies of Devonshire.

“Samantha graduated as an Ontario Scholar, with an average of over 80% in her Grade 12 subjects. Samantha has attended Albert College for four years, participating in this year’s trip to the Yukon Territory in Canada, skiing, dogsledding and ice fishing with her peers, and the many events held at the boarding house where she held a leadership role.

“Samantha was team captain of the senior girls’ soccer team, winning most valuable player and conspicuous service awards this year. She also coached the Middle School soccer team and was a committed member of the Albert College Jazz Band. In the fall, she will attend the University of Edinburgh for the Bachelor of Science in medical sciences.”

The spokesperson said, “Albert College is an international boarding and day school and a home away from home to students from Canada and over 20 nations around the world including Bermuda, Jamaica, Nigeria, Mexico, China, Hong Kong and Germany.
