Kerr And Morgan Win Muay Thai Titles

Tyler Kerr and Rhiannon Morgan have claimed titles at the annual TBA Muay Thai Expo World Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.
Both fighters were awarded unanimous points victories, Kerr in the Featherweight B Class Division [127lb] and Morgan in the Junior Novice Debut Atomweight [105lb] Division.
Kerr beat Isiah Fernandes of Southside Muay Thai in Ontario, and Morgan defeated Aracely Carrillo of Killer Bees Ardmore in Oklahoma.
Ten athletes represented Fight City Muay Thai and Fitness at the four-day competition, which finished yesterday, attracting more than 1,000 amateur competitors.
Chuck Morgan, the head coach, wrote on Facebook: “We ended up with a record of 11-5. Not bad for a rock in the middle of the ocean.”
Morgan, the father of Rhiannon, added: “My daughter is bringing home Bermuda’s first junior title from the largest Muay Thai tournament in the world.
“She put in the work and deserves every ounce of the win. What an amazing showing in her first-ever tournament.”
Also competing from the Pitts Bay Road gym were Ashton Outerbridge, Aiden Outerbridge [Junior Novice Debut]; Savannah Attride-Sterling, Ashleigh Mayo and Gabriel Scott [Novice Debut]; Keron Lee [Senior Novice]; Paulo Fiandesio [Novice]; and Jay Astwood [B Class].
