Registration Opens For 2023 STEAM Academy
“This year’s STEAM Academy will be a captivating circus-themed adventure, where P4-M1 students will have the opportunity to design and build their very own circus games using a wide array of exciting tools and technologies such as woodwork, circuitry, 3D printing, and laser engraving and more,” said Mr. Neville Zuill, Lead Teacher of the 2023 STEAM Academy.
A Government spokesperson said, “The annual STEAM Academy Programme is operated by the Department of Education’s Gifted and Talented Education Programme. It will run from July 3rd – 28th, 2023, between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM at the Dellwood Middle School Tech Building, for $130 per week.
“To personalise learning, spaces will be limited to 22 Bermuda Public School students on a first-come-first-serve basis. Register online at: www.steamacademybermuda.com.”
“This year, STEAM Academy will have the support of the educators of Purvis Primary and Francis Patton Primary schools. Our students imaginations will be ignited as they are empowered with practical science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics skills.” said the Minister of Education Diallo Rabain.
“With a focus on experiential learning, STEAM Academy provides a unique opportunity for students to delve into captivating STEM and Trades professions activities. Participating in this immersive experience will give them valuable insights into their potential career paths.”
Minister Rabain concluded, “STEAM Academy serves as a stepping stone for our young learners to consider the possibility of pursuing a Signature Learning Programme in High School, opening doors to exciting futures and endless possibilities.”
