CDP Achieves New Accreditation Designation
“The Government of Bermuda extends congratulations to the Child Development Programme [CDP] for obtaining accreditation from the Bermuda National Standards Committee [BNSC]. Thank you to the dedicated team at CDP who’ve worked tirelessly to achieve this milestone and to the parents and community stakeholders who wholeheartedly support CDP, you are deeply appreciated.” said the Minister of Education Diallo Rabain.
A Government spokesperson said, “On Friday, July 14, 2023, the Child Development Programme hosted a Stakeholder Appreciation Event to acknowledge the vital role played by stakeholders in shaping the success of the programme. To honour the stakeholders significant contributions, CDP presented a total of nine awards to a mix of parents, professional colleagues, and community partners.
“Additionally, CDP used this occasion to announce its new accreditation designation by the Bermuda National Standards Committee for the years 2022-2026.”
“We value the role of our stakeholders, who continuously provide us with valuable feedback regarding our policies, processes, and service delivery,” stated Dr. Terrylynn Tyrell, Coordinator of the Child Development Programme, in her opening remarks. “Their insights and experiences help us identify areas for improvement and enhance the services we offer to the 600 families we serve annually.”
The spokesperson said, “CDP recognises that stakeholders play a critical role in shaping and improving the quality of services. By actively engaging parents, colleagues, and community partners, CDP gains valuable perspectives on user experiences and fosters a collaborative environment for the benefit of families.
“Through early screening and detection, early intervention, home visiting, parenting support and coaching, and family counseling, the Department of Education agency provides essential services to families of children from birth to five years old.
“The event featured heartfelt acknowledgments and awards presented to outstanding stakeholders by Dr. Llewellyn Simmons, Director of Academics, and Sherri-Lee Bucci, Assistant Director of Early Childhood Education.”
Dr. Simmons relayed to the gathering a message from Mrs. Kalmar Richards, Commissioner of Education. She congratulated CDP on its reaccreditation and thanked stakeholders for their support. She said, “Organisations can achieve excellent results with teamwork; however, organisations can only achieve outstanding results with partnerships.”
The spokesperson said, “The ceremony was followed by an open house, allowing attendees to interact with the dedicated Child Development Programme team and learn more about their impactful work.
