Tennis Player Simons To Miss Island Games

Tennis player Tariq Simons will miss the NatWest International Island Games in Guernsey, the Channel Islands, because of issues with his travel documents.
The island’s No 1 player, who also missed Bermuda’s Davis Cup America’s group three campaign in Paraguay last month, has been replaced by Scott Redmond, who competed at the previous Games in Gibraltar in 2019.
Simons, 22, told Bernews: “I won’t make it here on time. I’ll miss the event this year.”
Redmond joins Gavin Manders, James Finnigan, David Thomas and Christopher Weeks in the men’s competition, which follows the Davis Cup format.
Shelby Madeiros and Victoria Stephens make up the women’s team, with their competition based on the Billie Jean King Cup.
