Bermuda Defeat Jamaica In Squash
Bermuda caused an upset in the men’s team event at the Senior Caribbean Squash Championships in the Cayman Islands last night [August 24].
The island’s team of Micah Franklin, Taylor Carrick, and Anaya Smith, the fifth seeds, defeated third seeds Jamaica 3-2.
Bermuda face Guyana in the semi-finals today.
Franklin, the Bermuda Squash Racquets Association director of squash, said: “I’m very proud of the team’s performance; the boys left everything out there. You could tell this one meant a lot to us.”
Bermuda’s veteran players Peter Drury and James Dodgson have delivered strong displays despite losses against Jamaica, the Cayman Islands and Barbados.
They play Guyana and Trinidad next.
