Dockyard: Fireworks, Gombeys, Vendors & More
The ‘Big Bang Finale’ at Destination Dockyard this Thursday evening [Aug 24] will feature over 30 local vendors, live entertainment, the Gombeys, a fireworks display and more.
A spokesperson said, “As the sun sets on another incredible summer season, WEDCO is thrilled to invite residents and visitors alike to join us for an unforgettable grand finale of Destination Dockyard. Get ready to be amazed with a fireworks display that will mark the end of a remarkable summer.
“Families and friends are encouraged to bring their blankets, and chairs, and join Captain Cahow on the North Lawn from 6pm to 9pm on Thursday, August 24th.
“Allow Dockyard’s favorite pirate to dazzle you with his swashbuckling charm while you enjoy an evening of live entertainment featuring musical band RAD & Gombey Troupe HNH, free activities, a vendor market and delicious local cuisine.”
“We’re very excited to wrap up the summer season with Destination Dockyard’s Big Bang Finale” said Marketing & Events Manager, Rebecca Martin. “We haven’t had fireworks in Dockyard in many years so we’re excited to shake things up and light up the skies for both locals and visitors to enjoy.
“Destination Dockyard offers the unique opportunity for locals and visitors to come together and enjoy cost free activities and entertainment while celebrating Bermuda’s vibrant culture, and many talented entrepreneurs and entertainers.”
The spokesperson said, “The event will host a vibrant vendor market featuring over 30 local artisans and creators, showcasing their unique crafts and products. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of offerings, from handcrafted jewelry to artisanal foods. The Clocktower Mall will also be participating in the event, extending its operating hours until 9pm, allowing attendees to explore it’s eclectic products and charming boutiques.
“A multitude of activities will be available including cost-free roller skating rentals, and some of Bermuda’s most exciting fun castles. Other exciting activities include Bermy Stride cycle track, facepainting, airbrush tattoos, and henna.
