The Ministry of Public Works is advising that due to the Labour Day holiday on Monday, 4 September, “household waste collection will follow a rollover to the next day’s schedule.”

A Government spokesperson said, “As a result, Monday’s waste collections will roll over to Tuesday with this schedule continuing through the week ending with Friday’s waste being collected on Saturday.

“Tin, aluminium and glass recycling [TAG recycling] will be unaffected by Monday’s holiday, with West End recycling collected on Thursday, 7 September, and East End recyclables collected on Friday, 8 September.

“The Tynes Bay Public Drop-Off will be open for drivers of private cars, L and LP vehicles to dispose of a maximum of four bags of regular waste and other waste items from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the Monday holiday.

“Visit the Government’s garbage and recycling page for more waste management information.”
