Bermuda Sandcastle Competition Results

The 2023 Bermuda Sandcastle Contest was held this weekend, with 27 teams taking part.

A spokesperson said, “What a perfect and glorious day to build castles and sculptures on the the beach.. until 4pm… exactly .. tools down and cue double showers of heavy rain. Judging happened despite the weather and the sun came out again in time for prize giving. Supplying rainbows and big smiles for all the winners. 27 teams competed this year and while it was lower numbers than hopped due to the storms and change in date. All of the teams bought their A game and created some absolutely stunning pieces

“This years Adult Category was the largest with 9 teams really making it super hard for the judges to choose winners.

First Place: Pete Returns, Castle , Pete Faverio who flew back again this year from the states to be part of our big day.

Second Place: Charlie’s Angels, Bda cottage

Third Place: Michelle Lindo, Mermaid Hair

“Tourist category had only one team this year. Josh Simoes, Brett Jameson and Jasmine Mills came together to create the funniest piece on the beach.. for me anyway. Fish taco ! Securing themselves of the two night stay at the Hamilton Princess first prize. We did have two other teams originally signed up but the change in date due to weather meant they couldn’t make it.

“Family category was quite large too consisting of 9 teams. Including a team from The Special Olympics.

First place: Team Sandtastic
