Advisory: Exercise Caution Near Area In Dockyard

October 23, 2023 | 3 Comments

The West End Development Corporation [WEDCO] has issued a “safety advisory to the public concerning the North Arm area within the Royal Naval Dockyard.”

A Government spokesperson said, “This area, seen in the attached photo, has experienced significant erosion, leading to a safety risk for mariners in the vicinity and visitors on land.

“It is essential for the safety of all those visiting the Royal Naval Dockyard that extreme caution be exercised while near this area, which will be fenced off until it is repaired.

“WEDCO is actively working towards the swift completion of the design phase required for the restoration plan, which is expected within the coming week.

“Following the design plan’s finalisation, WEDCO will initiate the repair process and look to have the project tendered as soon as possible.

“The restoration project is anticipated to take several months to complete once construction begins.”

Did that happen overnight? Clearly not so it has been deteriorating for months at least and nothing was done. Typical of this government, including quangos. Add it to the endless list of buildings, roads, brides, other infrastructure that are in dire need of fixing. No money Mr. Fix It Burch? Of course there is, stop wasting it to get votes.
