Bermuda maintained their perfect start to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier after defeating Panama by seven wickets at White Hill Field today [October 1].

Coach Niraj Odedra’s side, who beat Canada by 86 runs in their opener yesterday, restricted Panama, who won the toss, to 90 for eight off their allotted 20 overs.

Spinner Derrick Brangman was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets for 11 runs. Allan Douglas Jr also picked up two wickets.

In reply, Bermuda chased down Panama’s total in 13.5 overs, scoring 91 for the loss of three wickets, with Tre Manders top-scoring with 55 not out off 37 balls.

Bermuda are battling it out in a double-round robin format against Canada, the Cayman Islands and Panama over six days to claim a spot in the Men’s T20 World Cup next summer.

They return to action on Tuesday [October 3] against the Cayman Islands at the North Field, National Sports Centre.
