Bermuda continued their winning streak after defeating the Cayman Islands by 53 runs in the ICC Men’s T20 World Americas Qualifier at the North Field, National Sports Centre, today [October 3].

Inspired performances from Kamau Leverock with the bat and Derrick Brangman with the ball paved the way for a third straight win in the double round-robin tournament to determine who qualifies for the Men’s T20 World Cup next summer.

Opener Kamau Leverock fell two runs shy of a century, scoring 98 off 59 balls, as Bermuda amassed 176 for the loss of six wickets off their 20 overs.

Bermuda lost wickets at regular intervals until Allan Douglas Jr arrived at the crease, scoring 43 runs off 24 balls, putting on 80 runs for the fifth wicket with Leverock.

In reply, Cayman were restricted to 123 for eight, with their captain Ramon Sealy top-scoring with 64.

Slow left-arm bowler Brangman starred with the ball, claiming five wickets for 19.

Bermuda face Panama tomorrow at the North Field at 2 pm.
