Kamau Leverock Named Tournament MVP
Bermuda cricketer Kamau Leverock has been named Tournament MVP at the ICC T20 World Cup Americas Regional Qualifier.
The all-rounder scored the most runs [213], hit the most boundaries [15 fours and 14 sixes], and finished with the best batting average [42.60].
Derrick Brangman, the Bermuda slow left-arm bowler, claimed the second most wickets [12] at the four-team tournament.
Bermuda suffered heartbreak in their bid to qualify for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup after losing to Canada by 39 runs at the North Field, National Sports Centre, on Saturday.
Both teams finished with nine points; however, Canada advanced to next summer’s World Cup in the Caribbean and the United States thanks to their superior run rate.
It is the first time Canada has qualified for the showpiece.
Congrats! The grifters really need to get out of my camera roll and text messages with friends and family. Bermuda Institute of Seventh Day Adventists is such a great school. Class of 1993. Kiss Kijani for me. Love from TT’s godmother.
