Arts Centre Show To Open At Fort St. Catherine
The Bermuda Arts Centre is getting set to open a show at Fort St. Catherine on November 5.
A spokesperson said, “When was the last time you visited Fort St. Catherine? Our show will be held on the main floor of the fort, with sweeping views below. Walk around in our fresh air open gallery and learn something new.
“At 1:00pm there will be a free tour of the keep which will take you through dim tunnels and back into another time and life in Bermuda. The tour will be led by Fort St. Catherine historian Patrick Paley. We promise that this tour will be as informative as it is entertaining.
“From nasty food to cannonballs, no one can bring Fort St. Catherine to life like Patrick. If you think you’ve seen all there is to see of the fort, trust us, you haven’t – not until you’ve taken this tour.
“The Bermuda Plein Air Group will be at the event, capturing the day from various locations around the fort.
“The show is open from 12.00pm to 3.30pm. Parking for the event is at the fort or in the northern part of the parking lot below. All work is for sale. Proceeds from sales go to BACD and The St. Georges Foundation. After the event, the show will be taken back to Dockyard where it will hang on our walls until November 30.
“We hope you’ll join us for this historical and beautiful art event. Meet the artists, visit Fort St. Catherine and help to keep two important Bermuda charities going strong!”
