Daley Breaks Two More Bermuda Records

Elijah Daley concluded his impressive performance in the Age Group International Short Course Canadian Championships, hosted by the Etobicoke Swim Club in Canada.

On the third and final day of the championships, Daley showcased his exceptional talent. Notably, he achieved three personal best times, secured two medals, and broke two Bermuda records.

During the 50m butterfly preliminaries, Daley finished in 5th place with a time of 25.10, allowing him to advance to the A final. In the A final, he clocked a remarkable personal best time of 24.46. This achievement broke Jesse Washington’s previous record, which had stood since March 17th, 2018, during the BEST of the BEST Age Group Championships.

In the 100m backstroke preliminaries, Daley continued his stellar performance, recording the fastest time of 57.02, which secured his spot in the A final. In the A final, he achieved another personal best time, finishing in 55.97. This outstanding swim also shattered Jack Harvey’s previous record, which had been set on November 26th, 2020, during the BASA Winter Age Group Championships.

Daley’s excellence extended to the 100m freestyle preliminaries, where he clocked a time of 52.39, earning him a place in the A final. In the A final, he once again achieved a personal best time, finishing in 52.05 and securing 6th place.
