BHS Win BSSF Middle School Girls Six-A-Side
Bermuda High School won the Bermuda School Sports Federation’s Middle School Girls Six-A-Side tournament after defeating Warwick Academy 2 – 0 in the tournament final.
BHS dominated the tournament, going undefeated and not conceding a single goal throughout the tournament. BHS took the lead late in the first half when Avery Taylor connected at the far post off a corner. Milan Gibbons-Thomas put the game out of reach in the final minutes of the game tucking a rebound past the Warwick keeper.
Gibbons-Thomas put BHS into the final with the only goal in a 1 – 0 win over defending champions The Whitney Institute. Warwick had to overcome a two goal deficit against Saltus Grammar School to earn their spot in the final. Leydi Raynor and Ajana Patton gave Saltus a 2 – 0 lead before Warwick came roaring back with three unanswered goals. Riley Khan found the back of the net after hitting the framework three times in the first half. Nila Samuels and Antionette Barry rounded out the scoring to Warwick.
