Regiment Donates $1,000 To Bermuda Legion
The Royal Bermuda Regiment Association [RBRA] donated $100 to the Bermuda Legion for their annual poppy fundraising appeal.
A spokesperson said, “On November 7th the Royal Bermuda Regiment Association President Peter L. Aldrich [Left] and Vice President Roderick Spencer [Right] presented Carol Everson [Center] of the Bermuda Legion a check for $1000 towards the Legion’s annual poppy fundraising appeal.”
Mr. Aldrich stated “This annual donation from the RBRA to the Bermuda Legion represents our commitment and gratitude to the Bermuda War Veterans and their families. The sacrifices made by those that served in times of conflict to protect our freedom cannot be forgotten.”
Ms. Everson stated “We are most pleased and grateful for the donation and our valued relationship with the association. We are still in need of more donations and volunteers to assist with poppy sales so please continue to give generously, thank you.”
The spokesperson said, “Those interested in making donations can donate online at HSBC 010 731354 001. To volunteer for poppy sales please call Carol at 732-0100.
“The Royal Bermuda Regiment Association Membership is open to actively serving soldiers, Bermuda Coast Guard, former/retired RBR soldiers and predecessor its units. Basic membership is only $20 year with membership being free for members over 65 years of age.
“The RBRA has been invited by the Royal Bermuda Regiment to march in the Remembrance Day Parade on November 11th, 2023. If you are a former RBR soldier and are interested in joining us on parade, please contact the association as soon as you can.”
What a joke their paycheck after 3 days is more than that. Where is a thousand going to in bermuda?
The Bermuda Legion does much good work for former Bermuda Regiment (and BVRC and BMA) members. One may not view $1,000 as a significant amount of money, but every little helps.
And Carol Everson has donated her time to the Bermuda Legion for decades and deserves much more recognition for that than she gets.
@Dejavu how much did you give?
