Truck Crashes Over Embankment In East End
[Updated] A truck was seen crashed over an embankment in the east end last night [Nov 5] with the vehicle landing on its side near the water’s edge. Further details are limited at this time, however we have asked the Bermuda Police Service for information and will update as able.
Update 3.37pm: A police spokesperson said, “Around 5:15pm Sunday, 5th November 2023, police officers, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service officers as well as ambulance personnel responded to a reported single vehicle collision on St. David’s Road in St. George’s.
“Apparently, an intermediate flatbed truck being driven along St. David’s Road was negotiating a sharp bend, when the vehicle went off the road and over an embankment.
“It is understood that members of the public offered assistance at the scene and the injured driver, believed to be a 43-year-old Hamilton parish woman, was assisted out of the truck by EMTs.
“She was then transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check, she was still being medically assessed at the hospital. Her passenger, said to be a 48-year-old Hamilton parish man, was reportedly unhurt. Any witnesses are encouraged to call 211.”
