Human Rights: Freedom, Equality, Justice For All
“Yesterday, December 10, 2023, marked the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Bermuda proudly stands in solidarity with the global community to honor this groundbreaking pledge. This year’s theme, ‘Freedom, Equality, and Justice for All,’ resonates profoundly as we reaffirm our commitment to upholding the inalienable rights of every individual, transcending boundaries of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and more,” said the Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors Tinée Furbert.
“The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, proclaimed on December 10, 1948, embodies the core principles of dignity, equality, and justice for all. It is a testament to the shared values that unite us as a global community, regardless of our differences. In Bermuda, these principles form the cornerstone of our society, guiding us in fostering a culture of inclusivity, respect, and empathy.”
Minister Furbert added, “In our recent Throne Speech, Bermuda reaffirmed our dedication to advancing human rights by committing to amending the Human Rights Act’s definition of family status. This crucial step will ensure that our legislation evolves with the changing dynamics of our society, embracing diverse family structures and protecting the rights of every individual within them.”
“I extend heartfelt gratitude to the Human Rights Commission and all individuals and organizations tirelessly advocating for human rights in Bermuda. Your unwavering dedication and commitment to fostering a more equitable and just society serve as an inspiration to us all. Together, we reaffirm our pledge to stand as champions of human rights, ensuring that every Bermudian enjoys the freedoms and protections they rightfully deserve.”
Minister Furbert concluded, “As we recognize World Human Rights Day, may our collective focus be on promoting inclusivity, respect, and equality in every facet of our community. Together, let us continue to build a Bermuda where the rights of every individual are upheld and cherished.”
Gonna have to call you out on this …has Bermuda signed United Nations charter for Human rights as of yet…cause if not allah this be jibberish and hot air .

Your had better go check what the PLP Government has done in the last 5 years.
I agree with the United States Supreme Court in the case of Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas on this issue. When it comes to discrimination, separate but equal does not mean “equal”.

Bermuda has done nothing but deny people their human rights through its corrupted courts… Rebecca Middleton being one straight off the top..many innocent people have turned to the courts for justice only to suffer further injustices and further human rights violations.. Bermuda is at the top of the list for human rights
violations. You can believe that
