Aeolians Choir Set To Perform In Bermuda
The Aeolians Choir from Oakwood University is set to perform in Bermuda this month.
A spokesperson said, “The world-renowned Aeolians Choir of Oakwood University is set to grace Bermuda with their spectacular singing style in a series of public performances this January. With a rich history of over 30 Bermudian members, the Aeolians are excited to showcase their God-given talents and bless the local community with their music.
About the Aeolians
“Founded in 1946 by Eva B. Dykes, the first Black woman to receive a Ph.D. from Radcliffe College, Harvard’s female coordinated institution, the Aeolians have become a premier choral group. They specialize in a repertoire ranging from the Baroque era to contemporary music, deeply resonating with the yearnings of their forefathers to be free.
“The Aeolians’ reputation has grown in the 21st century, marked by visionary leadership and a continuous influx of talented students. Their performances have expanded from their campus church to international stages, including the Second International Moscow Christmas Festival of Sacred Music and winning the prestigious Choir of the World Luciano Pavarotti Trophy in 2017.
