Mirrors Launches 2nd Term Of Gardening Club
The Mirrors Programme’s Field of Learning Gardening Club commenced its second term on January 30th, 2024.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Mirrors Programme’s Field of Learning Gardening Club Term 2 begins Tuesday, January 30th, 2024. The programme will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and Term 2 finishes on March 21st, 2024.
“The Field of Learning Gardening Club for students ages 13-18 is designed to foster a sense of community, growth, and education. It will offer participants hands-on experience in gardening while promoting personal development, social engagement, and the enhancement of horticultural skills.”
“We are excited to embark on another term of cultivating knowledge and fostering a love for gardening among our participants. This term will be filled with educational insights and opportunities for our young gardeners to connect with nature,” said the Lead Gardener at the Mirrors Programme, Mr. Nelson C. Bascome III.
“We provide all necessary supplies, and participants will have the opportunity to earn co-curricular and community service hours where applicable. Students also have the flexibility to advise which days they will attend based on their schedules.”
The Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors, Tinée S. Furbert, shared, “The Mirrors Programme encourages students to join the Field of Learning Gardening Club for an enriching experience that promotes a love for nature and sustainable practices. Not only is gardening a valuable life skill, but it is also a therapeutic practice that contributes to overall well-being.”
