Sealey And Cechini Claim 5K Race Titles
Kahzi Sealey and Gabriella Cechini were crowned the male and female champions in the Butterfield and Vallis 5K Run today [January 21].
Sealey, who also won the Powerade 5K in July, posted a time of 17min 42sec.
In the women’s race, Cechini, who won the recent girls’ middle school race in the Butterfield Mile, claimed top honours in 19:55.
Christopher Harris also delivered an impressive display, finishing runner-up in the men’s race in 18:16. Philippe Froncioni rounded out the top three in 18:39.
Megan Berry was runner-up in the women’s race in 20:46, and Stepanka Sprincova, who won the Red Cross Jingle Bell 5K last month, placed third in 21:11.
In the senior school race, Jake Smith [17:48] was the top male, with Noah Maranzana [19:09] and Anthony Harkness [20:10] coming third.
Jaeda Grant [22:33] was the fastest female, with Madison Schindel [23:31] and Cristina Abend [23:33] third.
