WiRe To Host 2nd Annual Women’s Day Gala
Women in Reinsurance [WiRe] is set to host its second annual Women’s Day Gala on March 8th at the Hamilton Princess and Beach Club.
A spokesperson said, “Women in Reinsurance [WiRe], the professional organization for women working in Bermuda’s reinsurance sector, announces its second annual Women’s Day Gala to be held on Friday, March 8th, 2024.
“The event, which coincides with International Women’s Day, will take place at the Hamilton Princess and Beach Club. The Gala, first hosted in 2023 to celebrate WiRe’s fifteenth anniversary, will also honor a key contributor to Bermuda’s reinsurance industry with the 2024 Woman of the Year Award. The Award will celebrate a reinsurance professional that has made an outstanding contribution to both the success of her company and the ongoing development of other professionals.
“Keynote address will be given by reinsurance industry legend, Karen Clark, Co-founder and CEO of Karen Clark & Company [KCC]. Clark pioneered the first catastrophe model, a technology that has become the bedrock of modern day underwriting and is utilized across insurance, reinsurance, and financial institutions to assess risk. Clark has been widely awarded over the last two decades for her work and, under her leadership, KCC continues to drive innovation in catastrophe modeling.”
Peta White, Chairwoman of the WiRe board of directors and President of Vantage Risk, said “WiRe is thrilled to continue its work of highlighting the contributions of women in Bermuda’s world-class reinsurance industry.
