Bermuda Lose To Tanzania In Super Six
Bermuda lost to Tanzania by 127 runs in their opening game of the Super Six stage at the ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League Play-off in Selangor, Malaysia, today [February 28].
Tanzania, who finished second in group B, won the toss and batted first, with Bermuda bowling their opponents out for 239 from 46.3 overs at the Bayuemas Oval in Pandamaran.
Akhil Anil top scored for Tanzania with 68 from 87 balls, including nine fours and one six, while Kassim Nassoro hit 67 off 76 balls, with six fours and one six.
Pace bowler Cejay Outerbridge, who was making his List A debut, claimed four wickets for 46 runs off nine overs. Fellow debutant seamer Jermal Proctor took three for 54.
In reply, Bermuda scored 112 all out off 34.3 overs, with opener Terryn Fray continuing his superb form with 67 off 84 balls, including eight fours.
Laksh Barkania and Nassoro both took four wickets for Tanzania.
Bermuda are back in action against Vanuatu on Friday [March 1] at the Selangor Turf Club in Seri Kembangan.
