Ministry Issues Traffic Notice For March 9

The Ministry of Public Works issued a traffic advisory for the Miracle Temple Women’s Conference Motor Procession on March 9, 2024.

A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the Miracle Temple Women’s Conference Motor Procession will occur on Saturday, March 9th, 2024, between 10:45 am and 4:00 pm. The following roads will be affected:

Road Routes: The procession commences at Boaz Island Community Field on Runway Lane in Sandy’s parish; It proceeds easterly down Malabar Road to Somerset Road, Middle Road to South Road junction near Barnes Corner. There, they take a short break to allow traffic to pass; Then continue down Middle Road in Southampton to the Middle Road Post Office parking lot at the Rubber Tree near Khyber Pass Road in Warwick. There, they will take another short break to allow traffic to pass. Next, they will continue down Middle Road into the City of Hamilton via Trimingham Hill, East Broadway and Front Street to turn right onto Queen Street, then right onto Church Street to Cedar Avenue to turn left, continue and turn right onto Angle Street, right onto North Street that turns into Parson’s Road. At Pembroke A.M.E. Playground, there will be another break. After the break, they will continue back west along Parson’s Road towards North Street to turn right onto Dutton Avenue, right on Marsh Folly Road to Palmetto Road, and from there, head to Barker’s Hill roundabout and merge onto North Shore Road. Then, they will head to the New Testament Church of God Miracle Temple churchyard to allow traffic to pass. From there, continue east down North Shore Road in Flatts to Kindley Field in St. Georges. Continue over the Swing Bridge into the Town of St. Georges via Mullet Bay and York Street. From there, enter King’s Square around Ordinance Island, up York Street, Old Military Road, and the final stop at the St. George’s bus depot.

Traffic Control: The procession will commence on Saturday, March 9th, 2024, at 10:45 am. It is expected to conclude by 4:00 pm and will have a police escort.

Road Closures: There will be no road closures. All motorists are expected to use caution and avoid collisions with procession participants. The procession will be under the control of Police Officials. Motorists are asked to follow the police’s instructions to assist with traffic control for this event.

“The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the motoring public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result. “In addition, the Bermuda police are hereby authorized to “Close-Off” streets or portions of streets and authorize parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.”
