Somersfield Academy To Present ‘Annie Kids’

Somersfield Academy will be presenting a theatrical production of “Annie Kids” in March.

A spokesperson said, “After a hiatus caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Somersfield Academy is delighted to announce the return of live theatrical productions with their upcoming performance of “Annie Kids.” The production marks a significant milestone for the academy and its students, showcasing their talent and dedication to the performing arts.

“Under the direction of Artistic Director Gerlie Bell, and with the coordination of Production Coordinator Julie Yoon, and Supervisors Tiffany Fox, Maria Hay, and Janice Pearman. Somersfield Academy’s Drama Club has been working hard to prepare for this highly anticipated show.”

“Annie Kids’ represents not only the return of live theatre to Somersfield Academy but also a celebration of resilience and creativity in our staff and students,” says Gerlie Bell, Artistic Director. “We are thrilled to bring this story to life on stage and share it with our community.”

Julie Yoon, Production Coordinator, says, “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors for their generous support. Their contributions have made ‘Annie Kids’ possible, showcasing the power of community involvement in nurturing the arts. We are deeply thankful for their partnership and belief in our students’ talents.”

The spokesperson said, “Somersfield Academy experimented with a new fundraising approach, launching the “Advertise for the Arts” campaign. This initiative invited Somersfield businesses to support the school’s co-curricular programme through purchasing advertising in the school’s playbill and yearbook. The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive, with several businesses stepping forward to show their support.”

“The success of the ‘Advertise for the Arts‘ campaign is a testament to the vibrant entrepreneurial culture we cultivate here at Somersfield, and I’m incredibly proud of our community’s collective efforts,” comments Kristen Scott Ndiaye, Marketing and Development Manager. “We are deeply grateful to our sponsors for their generosity, which has enabled us to bring our first performance opportunity to life and continue nurturing the creative talents of our students.”

“‘Annie Kids’ will be staged in the Somersfield Gymnasium. Performances will show on Friday, March 15th at 6:00 PM and Saturday, March 16th at 3:00 PM. Tickets are now available on ptix.bm.”
