KBB Prepares For Island-Wide Spring Clean
Keep Bermuda Beautiful [KBB] is preparing for their annual islandwide ‘Spring Clean’ the Great Big Bermuda Clean-up [GBBC].
A spokesperson said, “Sponsored by BF&M, the week of clean-up activities commences on Earth Day, Monday 22 April, and culminates with a grand finale event on Sunday 28 April.
“Hundreds of volunteers are expected to participate in dozens of clean-ups across the island throughout the week. KBB invites the public to join in by registering for one of the GBBC activities or organising a clean-up with your company, school or community group.
“The grand finale kicks-off at 9am on Sunday 28 April for a two-hour cleanup through Devonshire Parish. The start and finish point at Friendship Vale Park on Palmetto Road will be buzzing with excitement, entertainment and refreshments.
“Last year’s Great Big Bermuda Cleanup saw more than 1,200 volunteers remove 25,000 pounds of roadside litter and illegal dumping from 60 locations. Shockingly, over 16,000 pounds [55%] of that total weight was collected in just two hours during the 2023 GBBC grand finale in Smith’s Parish!
“Volunteer registration is now open for the 2024 Great Big Bermuda Clean-up. Please visit KBB.bm or call 799-5142 to get involved and make a difference. Together, we are leading the way to a cleaner, greener and healthier Bermuda for all.”
