Photos & Video: FEI Jumping World Challenge
[Updated] Bermuda’s show jumpers showcased their skill and determination as they competed in the 2024 FEI Jumping World Challenge’s final phase at the National Equestrian Center on Vesey Street this weekend. We will update with the results as able.
Update 7.50pm: A spokesperson said, “The final phase of the 2024 FEI Jumping World Challenge [FEI JWC] was held at the National Equestrian Centre on Saturday, 23rd March. The 2023 FEI JWC comprises of three separate jumping events; held on 4th February 2th March and 23rd March 2024.
“The Challenge offers an Individual classification per Country and Geographical Zone in each of the three jumping height categories. The Regional and World rankings are determined from the best results from two of the three events. The Challenge also offers a Team classification per geographical zone. Team members comprise the top placing riders in each of the three height categories.
“Below are the overall Bermuda winners from each of the three jumping categories.
“In Category “A” [1.20 – 1.30m] The Aon Trophy was awarded to lst place winner Jaylynn Hines and her horse Toto D’ysenbeeck.
“In the Category “B” [1.10 – 1.20m] The Nightmare Trophy was awarded to lst place winner Tyler James riding Cruise Control.
“In the Category “C” [1.00 – 1.10m] The Central Carolina Trophy was awarded to Abby Bardgett riding Up Up & Away.
“The 2024 Bermuda Team comprises
Jaylynn Hines Riding Toto D’ysenbeeck [Category A]
Tyler James riding Cruise Control [Category B]
Abby Bardgett riding Up Up & Away [Category C]
“Judging the final phase of the Challenge was FEI Level 2 Judge John Flisk of the USA and FEI Level 1 Judge Pamela Mahoney of Bermuda.
“Bermuda equestrians must wait until January 2025 to receive the final and official standings in this year’s FEI JWC as competing countries have until 31st December by which to complete their events.”
