Photos: JAB Hosts Movie ‘Bob Marley One Love’
The Jamaican Association Bermuda [JAB] recently hosted a successful private showing of the movie Bob Marley One Love.
“It was very successful as we came together as a community – Jamaicans and Bermudians alike. There was a whole lot of unity.”
This is from Destinee Williams-Taylor, the public relations officer from the Jamaican Association, describing the emotions that ran through the crowd at the Speciality Cinema & Grill on the Bermuda premiere of the Bob Marley: One Love movie.
She said that everyone was already anticipating the vibe leading up to the event. Ms. Taylor-Williams said the event was sold out in early January.
Ms. Taylor-Williams added that the festive atmosphere had the theatre decked out in red, black, and green, as well as photos of Bob Marley. “People were taking photos, smiling, and embracing one another.” Saxophonist Sir Clarke. The feeling was great. We definitely felt the spirit of Bob Marley’s legacy.”
Ms. Taylor-Williams emphasized, “If we continue this spirit of unity, One Love, that will be the theme for the rest of the year.” She said they are already talking about having a One Love cruise.
The major sponsors for the event were BGA, Grace, and Burrows Lighbourn Ltd. People were enjoying free drinks to help add to the vibe.
