Ray Swan Flat 8K Race Set For Sunday
The Swan’s Running Club Legend Series continues with the Ray Swan Flat 8K in Pembroke on Sunday [March 24].
The annual series started last month with the Ed Sherlock 8K Run in Southampton, with Sean Trott winning the men’s race in 27min 45sec and Gayle Lindsay the fastest woman in 31:31.
Featuring four races, the third leg of the series will be the Ludwig Cann 10K in Warwick on April 7, followed by the Bermuda Healthcare “Sir” Stanley Burgess 5K in Devonshire on May 5.
The Ray Swan Flat 8K also features a competitive and non-competitive walk.
Dage Minors, who won the overall Legend Series male title last year, is not defending his crown as he is training at the Cardiff Metropolitan University in Wales.
Meanwhile, Lindsay is aiming for her sixth straight title in the women’s category.
The Legend Series aims to celebrate Bermuda’s race legends. Participants must compete in a minimum of three of the four races.
The male and female runner accumulating the most points is the overall winner. There are also age group winners in the Open [20-39], Masters [40+], Seniors [50+], Veterans [60+] and Legends [70+] categories.
