Traffic Notice For BNT Palm Sunday Walk

The Government issued a traffic notice for the Bermuda National Trust Palm Sunday Walk scheduled on Sunday Sunday, March 24.

A spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that The Bermuda National Trust Palm Sunday Walk will occur on Sunday, March 24th, 2024, between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm. The following roads will be affected:

Walk Routes:

“The walk commences and concludes at Lindo’s Family Foods Store on Middle Road, Warwick. The walkers proceed via Spring Hill Road to the Railway Trail where they travel west to Glenwood Park Crescent. The participants then travel through Southlands Park to South Road where they head west to Astwood Cove. The walk route continues through Astwood Park and back to South Road. The walkers turn right onto Warwick Lane and then make a left onto Spice Hill Road. They continue on Spice Hill Road, turning left onto Windreach Lane where they follow marked signs to the Railway Trail. The participants travel east along the Railway Trail to Khyber Pass where they make a left turn to head to Middle Road. The walkers turn right onto Middle Road and travel east before making a right turn onto Olive Bank Drive. They traverse Olive Bank Drive and use the Sherwin Nature Reserve to return to the Railway Trail. The walkers travel east along the Railway Trail and turn left onto Tribe Road No. 2. They continue on Tribe Road No. 2, make a right onto Middle Road where they head east to the finish line at Lindo’s Family Food Store.

Traffic Control:

“The walk will commence on Sunday, March 24th, 2024, at 1:00 pm and is expected to conclude by 5.00 pm. There will be Race Wardens and Police Officers present along the route to direct traffic.

Road Closures:

“There will be no road closures. All motorists are expected to use caution and avoid collisions with the walk participants. The walk route will be under the control of Race Wardens and Police Officers. Motorists are asked to follow the instructions given by the Race Wardens and Police Officers to assist with traffic control for this event.

“The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the motoring public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result. Should there be any questions regarding this event, please direct queries to the attention of the race representative, Myles Darrell at #705- 9876.

“In addition, the Bermuda police are hereby authorized to ‘Close-Off’ streets or portions of streets and authorize parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.”
