NVCC, PHC Zebras & Hamilton Parish Win
Footballers in both the Premier Division and First Division were in action this Saturday, with the North Village Rams, PHC Zebras, and Hamilton Parish all earning wins.
North Village Rams 3 Somerset Trojans 2
The North Village Rams came from behind to edge the Somerset Trojans 3 – 2.
Jalen Harvey gave the North Village Rams the lead in the 10th minute, but Kymani McNeil equalized for the Somerset Trojans in the 38th minute, and one minute later the Somerset Trojans took the lead with Rio Russell scoring, the Somerset Trojans took the 2 – 1 lead to the break.
The North Village Rams looked a defeated team as they went down to 10 men in the 78th minute when Tarreko Wilson was sent off, but the league leaders drew level in the 90th minute when Kyler Knights scored from a goal mouth scramble, and then four minutes into stoppage time Harvey rose to meet a corner at the back post and headed home for the winner.
The three points for the North Village Rams keep them one point ahead of the PHC Zebras in the standings, with the two teams set for the title decider.
PHC Zebras 3 X-Road’s 1
At the PHC Stadium, the PHC Zebras defeated relegated X-Road’s 3 – 1.
Enrique Russell gave the PHC Zebras the lead in the 3rd minute, but Donovan Thompson equalized for X-Road’s in the 19th minute. Shavon Nesbitt would give the PHC Zebras a 2 – 1 lead in the 35th minute, they would take that lead to the break.
Russell would extend the PHC Zebras lead to 3 – 1 when he found the back of the net for a second time in the match in the 57th minute earning them the three points.
Hamilton Parish 3 Young Men Social Club 2
At the Wellington Oval, Hamilton Parish came from three goals down at the half to defeat Young Men Social Club 3 – 2.
David Jones Jr gave Young Men Social Club the lead in the 12th minute, Josh Hardtman doubled the lead in the 30th minute as Young Men Social Club took a 2 – 0 lead into the half-time break.
In the 55th minute, Hamilton Parish pulled a goal back when Aaron Nelson found the back of the net, and then in the 63rd minute Hamilton Parish would draw level when Kion Knights scored, and in the 67th minute Hamilton Parish would take the lead with Gianni Burgess finding the net, they would hold onto the lead for the win.
