68 Cyclists Compete In Winners Edge Individual
The Winners Edge Individual Time Trial this morning [April 21] saw 68 cyclists competing across various categories.
A spokesperson said, “The Winners Edge Individual Time Trial, held today from Stonington Road in Paget to Church Bay Southampton and back, witnessed an exhilarating display of competitive cycling with 68 riders vying for victory across various categories.
“In the premier Category A, Conor White emerged as the standout performer, clocking an impressive time of 22:33.346 to clinch the top spot, a remarkable three minutes ahead of Jackson Langley. Meanwhile, Cat B saw Caitlin Conyers dominate the field with a commanding performance, securing the victory with a time of 26:12.808. In Cat C, Matthew Kenny showcased his strength, claiming first place in a time of 28:56.958.
“The junior categories also saw fierce competition, with Jacob Leclerc triumphing in the Youth 11-12 category, and Jens Drea taking the win in the Youth 13-14 category.
“The success of the event was made possible by the dedication of volunteers who contributed to its organization, marshaling, and ensuring the safety of all participants. Winners Edge extends their sincere appreciation to these volunteers for their invaluable support.
“The Bermuda Bicycle Association also extends its gratitude to the motoring public for respecting the cyclists during the race, ensuring a safe and smooth event.
“Bermuda Bicycle Association races are open to all riders, and time trialing provides an ideal entry point into competitive cycling. It’s a pure test of individual performance – just you, your bike, and the stopwatch. While prior training is not mandatory, having a base level of cycling fitness is recommended.
