Jacob Madeiros Named In All-Star Team
Bermudian footballer Jacob Madeiros has been selected for the South in the North-South All-Star Classic to be held in Anderson, South Carolina, in June.
Founded in 1989, the North-South All-Star Classic is one of the top school sports events in the Palmetto State.
Madeiros, who plays for the Bermuda Under-20 national team, has been named in a squad of 18 players for the South.
The attacking midfielder scored six goals in May River Varsity’s 9-0 win away to Colleton County High School last week, taking his overall tally for the season to 18.
The win has secured the Bluffton-based school a place in the play-offs with one regular-season game remaining.
Madeiros, who captains his school, is the leading scorer in the region.
