Wright’s Greenville Advance In Open Cup
Rick Wright’s Greenville Triumph remain undefeated this season after a 3-2 win away to One Knoxville in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup second round yesterday [April 3].
It took a stoppage-time goal from Chapa Herrera to ensure Greenville’s safe passage to the third round of the competition. Lyam MacKinnon scored twice for Greenville.
In the USL League One, Greenville are in second place with seven points from three matches.
They are at home to the Northern Colorado Hailstorm on Saturday [April 6].
Wright succeeded former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder John Harkes as the Greenville head coach in November last year after serving as his assistant since 2019.
A former Saltus Grammar School student, Wright made appearances for the Bermuda and United States national teams.
