Shrine Club Raises $1800 To Assist Family
The Bermuda Shrine Club held a fundraising dinner, and presented an $1800 cheque to Patrice Hayward and her daughter JahZara Hayward to assist in costs while JahZara received treatment at Boston Children’s Hospital.
A spokesperson said, “On Friday night the Bermuda Shrine Club held a dinner at Roys Fine Foods at Prospect, Devonshire to raise funds and build fellowship. The meeting was attended by Ms Patrice Hayward and her daughter JahZara Hayward who were presented with a cheque for $1800 to help with her transportation and accommodation needs while JahZara received treatment at Boston Children’s Hospital.
“The members of the Bermuda Shrine Club are all part of Mecca Shriners in New York and raise funds locally to support children’s needs and to provide travel assistance to patients being treated for free at the many Shriners Hospitals in the US and Canada.
“The Bermuda Shriners in Bermuda are a popular parade participant in the annual Bermuda Day parades featuring Shriners in their Fezzes giving out candy to kids along the way as well as Shriner Klowns and this year Dino-Riders.”
